Goals
I have goals, and thus have made a list to keep track of them and remain accountable. Originally I was going to make a table so that this page wasn’t very long, but I tried it… and it could just be my lackluster HTML not-skills, but it looked dumb. Trust me.
P.S. I have typed and read the word “goal” so often lately that it just looks ridiculous to me. Go-al. Gow-all. Seriously, I keep second guessing the spelling.

Whenever Goals
Otherwise known as the Lifetime List of Stuff
A note: I got this idea from Lou (a.k.a. Linda… or the other way around
) at Blah Blah Blog. She has something wonderful, called The List of Fifty, which is a list of fifty things she hopes to accomplish – it is always fifty things, as something new must be added once one is completed. I’m not picking up this concept exactly, but I think it’s awesome to have a list of stuff to do in your life, whatever it may be.
- Skydiving
- Bungee jumping
- Fly a plane
I flew a small plane above downtown Toronto, it was so cool - Fly in a helicopter (also – where does the word helicopter come from?)
- See a play
I saw The Wizard of Oz - See an opera
I saw Il Trouvatore (might’ve misspelled that) - See a musical
I’ve seen The Phantom of the Opera twice, Mamma Mia, and We Will Rock You - See a ballet
I got to see the Canadian National Ballet perform The Nutcracker - See a philharmonic
I’ve seen the Toronto Symphony Orchestra a few times - Go canoeing
Did this on a school camping trip - Ride in a gondola in Venice
Very cool experience - Sell a piece of art
- Get an article published
- See a Shakespearean play
I’ve seen Macbeth, a comedic version of Hamlet, and I’m pretty sure another one that I’m forgetting - Learn to drive
- Get my driver’s license
- Learn to drive a standard
- Go to Italy
I went for a couple weeks right before my 14th birthday - Go to France
I spent a summer in France with a family I’d never met… and learned a lot of French - Go to New York, NY
- Go to England
- Meet the band
I’ve met Trace Cyrus of Metro Station, Amy Lee of Evanescence and the guys of The Academy Is… - Go whale watching
- Ride on a boat
I went on a boat trip years ago when I first met the woman that is now my stepmother - Climb a rock wall
- Go on a “real” date
- See more than one concert by the same band
I’ve seen Panic at the Disco twice andĀ The Killers twice - Get a job
Oh yes, I’ve had a job, but it was just that – a silly, short-lived job in retail - Write the first draft of a novel
- Find a passion
Durr. Writing! I can’t believe it took me years to figure out this was my passion/hobby/ambition. - Visit every continent (so far I have North America and Europe down… hah)
- Skiing
Been a couple times, it was fun but things kept going wrong – first I fell and got a frighteningly epic bloody nose, then someone stole my skis - Go on a trail ride (super awesome looking Western-style horseback “hike” thing)
I went at a stable near Blue Mountain and it was awesome - Perform something (be in a play, act in a movie, sing in a show...)
- Get a diploma or degree
- Drive an ATV
- Do the 100 Mile Challenge
- Do a 5k (5 kilometre run)

Ohhhh, excellent!!!! I even see a couple I will be poaching from YOUR list! Like “ride in a gondola in Venice”and “see a Shakespearean play” (I am guessing that my having seen “Shakespeare In Love” does not count!
)! Also, I wish you the best with your weight loss plan! I hope you keep us updated so that “we” can cheer you on!
Lou
Thanks so much for the good wishes (again) Lou. I’m definitely going to keep on top of these. It’s as much for me as it is for anyone who might be interested (hahaha… I want to say “as if” but I’m afraid that will sound rude to anyone who actually is interested).
