Speaking of politics (well, policies)

2008 July 25

I’m sure many of you have heard of the new text message blasphemy. Customers of Bell and Telus without specific text messaging plans will be charged for incoming text messages, wanted or not – including those crappy little spam messages that charge you in the first place. CBC has more on the story here. The NDP (New Democratic Party) is against this. They have started a petition. I signed it. If you are against the text message cash grab, you should too. It’s really unfair. Cell phone companies have been gouging customers for years and this is really going too far. I know there are a lot of other things to get indignant or even outraged over, but this is what’s bothering me today. It’s especially nice to know someone with actual power is doing something about it. Consider signing the petition. At least learn more about it by clicking on the button below.

Update: The button was removed from the NDP website. Sorry.
